Cheesecake is an amazingly delicious treat, but it can be tough to eat it on the go. Sure, you could use your fingers, but that’s guaranteed to be a little messy. Well, Popeyes has a solution, and it’s freaking genius.
Popeyes just debuted a strawberry cheesecake pie that looks like your standard, easy-to-carry fast food pie, but completely elevated. The pie has a deep-fried turnover crust outside and strawberry pie filling, graham cracker crumbs, and cheesecake inside, according to Chew Boom.
For the record: This is different from the Strawberry ‘n Cream Cheese Pie Popeyes rolled out for a limited time a few years ago. That one didn’t have graham crackers crumbs inside and didn’t technically have a cheesecake filling—just cream cheese. Clearly, this is way better.
People are already talking about the new strawberry cheesecake pie on Reddit. “It’s pretty good,” one said. “I missed the pumpkin cream cheese which was only at my location for like 2 weeks for some reason but I’m not missing this one!” another wrote. YouTuber Jason Mazurek also gave the pie a try for a video and had rave reviews.
Worth noting: This pie is just $1.29 at participating Popeyes, per Chew Boom, which is much, much cheaper than getting an actual cheesecake. We reached out for Popeyes to find out more and will update this post when we hear back.
