It's finally 2020 which means we're all determined to make ourselves healthier, smarter, and just all around better. This is apparently not limited to people, but also affects our beloved fast-casual chains. In fact, Chipotle has declared new year, new lettuce by introducing a new greens blend you can find behind the counter right now.
Starting this year, Chipotle will begin serving a "SuperGreens" salad base instead of its classic romaine lettuce. Don't worry romaine fans, this new mix will still include romaine, but it will also have baby kale and baby spinach. You can also still get romaine lettuce by request if you're into it, but Supergreens will be the default.
In addition to the greens mix, Chipotle also announced that it has swapped out the oil in the marinade for its Adobo chicken so it would be Whole30 compliant. The changes are part of the Chipotle's re-roll-out of its Lifestyle Bowls. The chain introduced these last year as a way to make sure Chipotle fits into certain diets. The chain will serve bowls that fit into Whole30, keto, paleo, high-protein, vegan, and vegetarian lifestyles.
If that wasn't enough, Chipotle is also offering free delivery throughout January when you purchase a Lifestyle Bowl via the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com.
I don't know about you, but I pretty much know exactly what I'm getting when I order at Chipotle...because I get the same thing every time. There is something comforting about my burrito bowl with brown rice, black beans, chicken, veggies, corn salsa, guac, and cheese drowned in hot sauce, but these new bowls just may inspire a new me...at least for a bit.
