This year, vegan options have been popping up left and right at all of the classic food chains: McDonald's, Dunkin', and so many more. Now, Starbucks is adding more vegan items to their menus.
This news comes after PETA bought stock in the coffee joint as a move to try and make plant-based milk options cheaper. That said, the new vegan menu items will only be available in the United Kingdom for now.
According to Live Kindly, there are already quite a few plant-based options available at Starbucks locations around the UK. They have dairy-free mac & cheese, a vegan wrap made with jackfruit, and a tofu breakfast burrito.
The new items will be a chocolate and raspberry loaf, a jackfruit and grains bowl, and chocolate and coconut overnight oats. Starbucks specialty drinks can also be made with alternative dairy-free milk options.
A post on a UK vegan food Instagram page showed a photo of the new menu, and the descriptions of the new items would make anyone consider participating in a more veggie-forward lifestyle. The jackfruit grain bowl features pulled barbecue jackfruit with a grain mix cooked with red pepper sauce and a vegan cheese on top. The chocolate and raspberry loaf cake is a chocolate loaf base with raspberry jam inside and pink raspberry icing with dried raspberry pieces on top.
There is no confirmed date of when these options will start rolling out at UK Starbucks locations, but the Instagram account seems to think it will be in January for "Veganuary," the trend where people go plant-based for the first month of the new year.
