We've probably all been there: You suddenly find out you're having people over for dinner and you end up running to the Trader Joe's cheese section to try and feed the masses...but not all of us find out our surprise dinner guests are on national TV. And yeah, not all of us are Queen Chrissy Teigen.
Chrissy found out that husband John Legend had invited contestants and fellow judges from The Voice over for dinner following the finale Tuesday night...on Tuesday night. It's not clear exactly how she found out that she was suddenly having a surprise dinner party, but when she did...needless to say she wasn't exactly thrilled about it!
She continued her thread by saying that this behavior was kind of typical of her husband and if you're in a relationship, well, honestly, this whole thing was pretty relatable!
"It sounds dumb yes but this is VERY john. I am always in charge of doing the fun, extra shit and he has no idea how much I plan normally and he’s like 'no it’s fine they just wanna have dinner' but it’s literally the finale of their show??? And I have no ice cream truck," she tweeted.
Chrissy even shared a screenshot of her texts with John with the super relatable caption (that I think I honestly have texted my boyfriend at some point) "Lol I’m serious I’m laughing but I’m fucking pissed."
But Chrissy was also quick to point out that this is a situation that not all of us can relate to because we don't all exactly have Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Kelly Clarkson beating down our doors (though, really, guys, feel free! I have Trader Joe's mozz sticks and Scattergories!!). This was a pretty high pressure sitch.
Don't panic though: In the end, John ordered a "solution" cake from Milk Bar...but turns out Chrissy had already ordered FIVE because knows how to be "extra." Seems like that was enough to calm everyone down because later, Chrissy shared a sweet photo of the whole crew hanging out. All's well that ends in cake!
