TikTok, that app where you can post up to one-minute-long videos, is taking over the world. It can make viral stars out of the most unsuspecting people (like that man who says "chicken leg piece" when eating) and, most recently, this girl who sang her Starbucks order at the drive-thru.
The TikTok was posted by the username @inhertower but has since made its way around Twitter too. The girl in the video sings her, uh, unique Starbucks order to the barista at the drive-thru window. This includes a guava white tea lemonade with light ice, an iced coffee with one pump of pumpkin spice, and an extra cup with just ice.
The barista seems to be smiling and unbothered by the whole thing, and ends up saying "That was cra—I didn't expect that!" before getting her order for her. A lot of people thought his reaction was disingenuous because of the cameras, or he's just really good at his customer service job.
Some said that if they were the drive-thru worker, they wouldn't be able to hide their annoyance. Others said that the people behind her were probably the most bothered because of how long this probably took to set up and film, rather than just asking her order in a normal speaking voice.
TBH, I'm just confused about why her Starbucks order involves so much ice. If it also makes you feel uncomfortable to watch, find some solace in the fact that the TikTok user's name is "cringe queen" on the app, so maybe she did this for the sole purpose of second-hand embarrassment. If so, I can attest that it definitely worked.
