Mariah Carey, queen of Christmas, is not only a master of Christmas songs but she is also apparently an amazing holiday cook. She is so good, in fact, that she said really wants to release a Christmas cookbook...and I say, LET HER!
Mariah shared this info in a video for GQ where she is in her natural setting: sitting in front of a Christmas tree. She shared some of the things she cannot live without every Christmas season. And in addition to sharing that she spends every Christmas hanging out with live reindeer and Santa Claus in Aspen, CO, she also let us know that she is an amazing cook.
In fact, she said that Christmas for her means cooking...a lot. The woman makes three days worth of holiday meals. THREE DAYS.
"I like to cook every year," she said. "I cook on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th, all different menus. One of them is one of my father's recipes. Before he passed away, he left me this recipe that I like to make every year on Christmas Eve."
She said that on Christmas, she makes a "traditional meal," which to her means turkey. But even though she is a supreme queen, Mariah admitted that she struggled at first with how to cook a turkey, just like us. Unlike us? She has a sous chef. Respect!
"People don't believe that I cook, by the way, they think I'm lying," she added. "Lots of people are like 'she don't cook,' but the truth is that I do and I actually love cooking."
Besides turkey, Mariah won't share what else she makes on Christmas because one day she wants to put out a Christmas cookbook in which all will be revealed.
"One day I'm going to put out a Christmas cookbook," she said. "A Christmas cookbook and a lot of other things that are just kind of like essentials for me."
While we all wait for that, one secret she will reveal right now is that cooking with love is always her secret ingredient.
"If you don't cook with love, it's not going to taste good," she said. Noted!!
