If you’re a huge cheesehead—not just the Wisconsin kind but an actual cheese enthusiast—you can showcase what truly matters to you this holiday season with cheese-filled ornaments from Aldi.
Starting today, Aldi is selling clear ornaments with four mini blocks of cheese in them for just $4.99 a piece. The plastic balls come with either a simple snowflake or a cheese wedge Christmas tree design on it, so the real star of the show can shine through.
You get two types of cheese in these: mild cheddar cheese and grass-fed aged cheddar cheese. Each ornament contains two of each kind. As the blocks sit on display, they’re fully protected in shrink-wrapping to keep them fresh.
Obviously, it’s probably not the best idea to keep these unrefrigerated on your tree for weeks on end. But they’re perfect to bring into the party scene. Instead of a cheese plate at a holiday party, you could hang these all over your tree and tell guests to grab them as they please. A tree literally covered in cheese would surely kill at a party and boost originality.
These ornaments could also be used as stocking stuffers that transform from snack to craft. Once the cheese is devoured, you can fill the empty ornament with anything from candy to glitter to feathers. You can even decorate it with paint or go at it with a hot glue gun.
While you’re out on a mission for this cheesy decor, you can snag Aldi’s cheese advent calendar, too. It’s never too late to start one, even if you decide to eat the whole thing in one sitting.
