Basketball star LeBron James showed his appreciation this week for the Los Angeles County Fire Fighters and first responders battling the fires raging in California by sending them a taco truck.
LeBron and his family had to evacuate their California home in the wake of the Getty Fire and he tweeted about how difficult it was for them to find a place to stay. He's since sent his thanks to first responders in the form of a tweet and in interviews to press, but on Tuesday, he took it a step further by sending them a taco truck to provide them with a meal.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted a photo of the truck alongside a thank you to LeBron.
As many fans noted, his choice of truck was likely no accident: LeBron is well known for his love of tacos, with his company even attempting to copyright the term "Taco Tuesday," though the request has since been rejected. Well, the day he sent them the truck? It was Tuesday, of course.
LeBron isn't the only celebrity stepping up to provide first responders with food. As CNN noted, Guy Fieri cooked some meals for the firefighters at Sonoma County Fire District in coordination with Chef José Andrés' non-profit World Central Kitchen. Those firefighters are currently battling the Kincade Fires that's burning in Northern California. Chef Tyler Florence and Chris Chris Cosentino also volunteered to make some meals for firefighters and people who had to evacuate.
