Chrissy Teigen and John Legend just graced the world with their perfect family on the cover of December's Vanity Fair. In their interview with the outlet, the two talked about everything that had led up to this point in their careers. For Chrissy, that involved eating a lot of McDonald's as an aspiring model.
Chrissy said she was first discovered by a cameraman when working at a surf shop in Huntington Beach, CA. He asked Chrissy if he could take bikini photos of her, and her dad accompanied her on her first shoot. This is what eventually landed Chrissy the role of the love interest in John's 2007 music video for the song "Stereo," and soon after, in real life.
Still, when the two starting casually dating and John was on the up and up, Chrissy was still a struggling model trying to break into the industry. “I had no credit cards, I didn’t have a bank account, and it just didn’t occur to me to ask my dad for money,” Chrissy told Vanity Fair. “I knew exactly how much it was with tax to get a McDouble and fries.”
During this time, John would occasionally wire transfer money to Chrissy. While she was working half of the year in Miami, he would get a room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel when he had a show there, the outlet reported. After he'd leave, Chrissy would invite her roommates to the hotel so they could raid the mini bar.
So, pretty much, McDonald's played a part in Chrissy becoming the model, Twitter queen, and all around icon that we know and love today...And a mini bar helped her and John find happily ever after. Love to see it.
