Chick-fil-A is now taking the world by storm. And no, we are not just talking about the chicken sandwich debate that inevitably divided the internet. We are still not quite over it or ready to make a choice between Chick-fil-A and Popeyes, okay?!
Chick-fil-A recently opened its newest international restaurant in the United Kingdom. This news marks the location as the United Kingdom's first Chick-fil-A restaurant, and it is now the fast-food chain's third international opening. The BerkshireLive reported that the UK opening was in Reading, a town in Berkshire, England.
According to comments made to Business Insider, "We can confirm we opened a pilot licensed location in the UK on October 10 and we are pleased to have already served several hundred customers in our first day," a Chick-fil-A representative said. "This location will help us understand more about consumer interest in our brand and signature menu items."
If Chick-fil-A aficionados didn't already have enough to love, the restaurant still has plans to keep expanding its empire in other areas around the world.
The chicken-based chain opened its first restaurant outside of the United States just this year in the Toronto area. There are plans to continue adding to the Canadian city with about 15 more Chick-fil-A restaurants in the next five years. That's gonna be a lot of waffle fries...dare I say, waffle fry poutine? Think about it.
