So, here's the tea. Or I guess... here's the beer. Guinness is back at it again with another flavor to add to its stout collection, this time with hints of chocolate! The brewers at Guinness Open Gate Brewery announced the Guinness Over the Moon Milk Stout just in time to commemorate over 50 years since the first man landed on the moon.
According to Diageo Beer Company USA, this 5.3% ABV beer is characterized as a creamy full-bodied stout with tastes of roasted malt, milk chocolate and rich coffee. I mean, who doesn't like a little sweetness added to their brew?! The roasted flavor from the beer offers a nice match with a grilled meat and the sweetness also allows it to taste good with desserts like chocolate chip cookies.
"Guinness Over The Moon Milk Stout was born from an idea to make a beer that could celebrate our stout brewing expertise, speak to a wide spectrum of beer drinkers, and also convey the creativity and versatility of our brewing team here in Baltimore," said Hollie Stephenson, Head Brewer at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery. "The beer has notes of caramel, chocolate, and a light roastiness that might remind some people of our historic stouts, however it finishes with a sweetness characteristic of milk stouts, which we believe makes this beer very approachable and appealing to a wider audience."
You can find this specialty beer in select areas around the country, including the Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas. The beer will be sold in six packs of 12-oz cans for a current price of $10.99. In November, everyone can snag the Guinness Over The Moon Milk Stout during its nationwide release for a limited time. Enjoy and drink responsibly, friends!
