Cola-flavored Sour Patch Kids are here and it's a variation sure to divide candy fans.

The discovery was made in the United Kingdom, by @KevsSnackReviews and was reposted this week by @junkfoodonthego. The latter begged in their caption for these cola-flavored gummies to be released in the United States.

Back in May, Delish reported on Sour Patch Kids parent company Mondelez International rolling out Crush Soda-inspired flavors for their “Sour Then Sweet” candy. They included orange, strawberry, pineapple and grape, and the reviews were all pretty much raves. How do we feel about this straightforward cola addition to the Sour Patch Kids lineup, though? On one hand, gummies tend to come in — and taste best in — fruity flavors. On the other hand, cola has that irresistible sugary sweetness that would probably balance out well with a sour kick.

It’s hard to say for sure without trying cola Sour Patch Kids, but color us intrigued. Sour Patch Kids wouldn’t be the first candy to tap into the cola taste. Over the years, Haribo has made gummy cola bottles, PEZ has gone cola, Chupa Chups had cola lollipops, Mike & Ike made a cherry cola version, there were cola Nerds, and there were also cola Hi-Chews, to name a few.

This writer fondly remembers chewing the cola flavor of Bubblicious like it was her darn job between the ages of nine and eleven (great business for my dentist!). The difference for Sour Patch Kids is, of course, their sour factor, so we’re still dealing with a bit of uncharted territory here.

There’s no word yet on whether cola-flavored Sour Patch Kids will in fact be making their way to the United States, but we’ll be first in line to try them and weigh in with our verdict if they do.
