Tragically, America is experiencing a White Claw shortage—except for Texas, I guess, where a bunch of frat bros recently and casually secured $7,500-worth. But that's neither here nor there. Due to skyrocketing sales, our supply has officially run dry and we might not see a full restock until sometime next year.

But why can't the brand just...keep up? Glad you asked! According to CNN Business, who spoke with White Claw and industry experts, the demand is just too high. In 2018, they adopted a distribution method called allocation. In essence, they are doling out a limited stock everywhere to ensure each market gets the Claws they so desperately want, parent company Mark Anthony Brands reports.

But the problem? Sales increased a whopping 283 percent since last July and shipments aren't keeping up. Now it's time to rethink.

"While not completely eliminating intermittent stock outs, we believe this strategy has helped us be in the best position possible on shelf," president Phil Rosse said in a statement. "But with the tremendous response we have had from consumers, understandably, our supply chain has tightened."

The spiked seltzer industry as a whole is booming. We're looking at a billion dollar business. White Claw just seems to be the drink of choice. In response, they're "working around the clock" to up their stock and have plenty ready by 2020.

In the meantime, we've got Trulys, Arctic Summer, Bon & Viv, even Natty Light seltzer. I think we'll live. Maybe.
