If the news that Kentucky Fried Chicken was launching a vegetarian "chicken" option at one of its locations excited you, you're not alone...like REALLY not alone. In fact, the idea was so popular that the supply sold out within hours of launching at one store in Atlanta.

The Beyond Meat Fried Chicken caused lines to be hours-long, according to Vox, and to wrap around the entire building. KFC said that it took just five hours for excited customers to wipe the location out of its new product completely. This is apparently as many sales as KFC usually makes in popcorn chicken in a WEEK.

So OK, it's sold out but is it actually worth the hype? Early reviewers like Digital Trends who managed to get their hands on it seemed to really like it! No word on if and when the chicken will be making its mighty return or if it will be getting a launch nationwide but it seems like it's definitely worth trying.

It's a tough week for fans wanting to try out fried chicken and "chicken" alike. Not only did KFC sell out of its product this week, but Popeyes also announced a sell-out of its stock of super-popular chicken sandwiches.

If you're still looking to get your hands on a Beyond Meat product that may not be sold out near you, you can get a Beyond Breakfast Sausage sandwich at Dunkin' or Beyond Burgers at Carl's Jr., but it's always best to call ahead.
