Candles are one of those items you can never have enough of—though your roommate/boyfriend/mom might say otherwise. So when someone gives them away for FREE, and they happen to smell like a delicious dessert, you're obviously not gonna turn one down. It's no surprise then that Dairy Queen's Fall Blizzard Treat Candle Collection disappeared in less than 30 minutes...but TBH, we're still focused on the fact that it existed in the first place.
DQ announced the candle collection August 26 alongside its fall Blizzard menu, which includes the return of the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard, duh, and new desserts like the Harvest Berry Pie and Heath Caramel Brownie Blizzards. The candles match the dessert scents to a T. There's the Harvest Berry Pie candle, the Heath Caramel Brownie candle, the Pumpkin Pie candle, the Snickers candle, and the Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough candle, all of which smell extremely sweet and sort of capture the essence of fall, if you are prone to lots of baking.
The candles were briefly available on this website—the few DQ fans who were fast enough signed up for a complimentary candle while supplies lasted. Per Dairy Queen, that timeframe was less than a half hour. The brand is not disclosing how many were given away.
Dairy Queen reps did hang on to at least a few candles, though, and are telling fans to follow DQ on social media to potentially win one: "A few lucky fans may be surprised and delighted with the Fall Blizzard Treat Candle Collection, DQ gift cards and other goodies throughout the season," a spokesperson for the brand said. In the meantime, the fall Blizzards are in stores, along with about a million other fall-flavored (and sometimes scented) things!
