It's still the year 2019 and, honestly, it's still the year of Lizzo. The performer stole even more hearts at the MTV Video Music Awards on Monday night when she was seen carrying around—and chugging directly from—a sparkly bottle of Patrón.
The singer and talented flutist performed several of her hits on the VMA stage (with a giant butt behind her, might I add!). But the best moment of the night happened when she paused during her songs “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell” to take a well-deserved tequila break. She stood on a platform and tilted all the way back to chug from the bottle, created by Sparkylestudio, which is how we'll all be taking shots from now on, OK?
"Let me talk to you for a second. I'm tired of the bullshit and I don't have to know your story to know you're tired of the bullshit too," she said. "It's so hard trying to love yourself in a world that doesn't love you back am I right?"
"So I want to take this opportunity right now to just feel good as hell because you deserve to feel good as hell," she continued. "We deserve to feel good as hell. So tell me how you feeling?"
If you thought the Patrón bottle was just a prop for her performance, you'd be wrong. Lizzo kept that trusty bottle with her all night long and could be seen holding onto it as she rocked out in the audience. She even gave interviews on the red carpet with it, where she confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that, yeah, she really was taking shots!
No matter where she went, people seriously could not get enough of her with this bottle, which, can you blame them?
