It's no secret that every Target is located in some strange part of the universe in which items from the shelves just magically appear in your cart. But now that phenomenon is about to get a lot more intense because Target is officially launching a new grocery line. And it looks aaaamazing.
USA Today first reported that Target's new grocery line will be called Good & Gather. Target has had a few food lines in the past, but this is set to be its biggest yet, with 650 items dropping in mid-September and another 2,000-plus becoming available by 2020.
The food in the line seems to be focused on health and wellness because everything will be free of artificial flavors and sweeteners, synthetic colors and high-fructose corn syrup, according to a release. Plus, you can get your money back if you're unsatisfied with anything you buy from the line.
But now onto the good stuff: what food will actually be offered. Some of the products mentioned and shown in the release are pantry staples—like butter, almond milk, and pears—while other items in the line like beet hummus, poblano mac and cheese, and avocado toast salad (whatever that means!) are a bit fancier.
The only bad news here is if you love Target's Archer Farms and Simply Balanced grocery lines, they'll be phased out to make room for this one (though they'll be replaced with alternatives in the new line), so be sure to stock up on your faves now.
Prepare your carts now because the first roll-out is scheduled for September 15.
