UPDATE: August 20, 2019 at 12:29 p.m.

Looks like Cookies & Creme Twix are officially coming back, though they're a bit later and possibly a bit different than fans expected.

Mars confirmed that Cookies & Creme Twix will be on shelves starting in January 2020, so a bit later than the December date we had previously heard.

The candy will have chocolate cookie bars and " an all-new, soft-creme center packed with crunchy cookie bits," which certainly sounds like the recipe could be slightly or very different than the one from the '90s that fans have been clamoring for. (Plus they look to be full-sized, not mini!)

All of that filling will be covered in milk chocolate...and suddenly, we can't wait for it to be 2020.

You can fight me on this, but Twix is pretty much a perfect candy. That being said, you can always improve upon perfection, and I'd say stuffing a Twix bar full of cookies and creme filling is a big improvement.

Cookies and Creme Twix Minis were first unveiled by the Instagram account @junkfoodleaks who shared a photo and their rave review. They called the bag "dangerous" because they were so good and said they almost finished the bag in that sitting. Honestly, sounds like it's time to get E-X-C-I-T-E-D.

Junkfoodleaks said these babies should be available to purchase as early as December, though it isn't clear from where and if they'll be available in a full-size version, too (or king-size...honestly I'll take it!).

Though whoever invented this snack was clearly living in the future, you may know that the idea of a cookies and cream-flavored Twix isn't exactly a new one. It originally was released in 1990, and even before this announcement, it got frequent love from fans who have been clamoring for its return to shelves. Looks like their wish may have finally been granted.

Hopefully this is a trend that continues. I mean if we can reboot old shows and movies, why can't we do the same with candy? Now it's just time to take bets on which one will be next. I personally would vote for Hershey's Swoops, but that's just me!
