A flight attendant was recently arrested and fired for public intoxication on an Air Wisconsin flight from Chicago to South Bend, IN. The scary incident, which occurred on August 2, was originally reported via Twitter.
Aaron Scherb caught the attention of airport authorities when he released the following tweet:
According to an affidavit acquired by People, "A few passengers reported they felt scared for their lives….numerous passengers expressed concern about the condition of the flight attendant; some believed she was drunk, some thought she might have had a medical issue, and others felt she might have a stroke."
Upon landing, airport police officers boarded the plane to arrest the flight attendant. "At first, she wasn’t willing to stand up and began crying…she needed to use the airplane's seats to maintain her balance," the affidavit continued.
The flight attendant allegedly had all the signs of an alcohol overload: bloodshot eyes, the stench of vodka on her breath, and slurred speech. She blew a blood-alcohol content level of .204 and admitted to having two vodka shooters prior to work, according to the arresting officer.
The woman has a court date scheduled for August 2 ,and has already been fired from Air Wisconsin, a United Airlines partner. Typically, public intoxication—a misdemeanor—will land you up to 180 days in lock up. How this will all pan out is still TBD, but we’ll keep you updated and leave you with this: Don’t drink and fly.
