Gwyneth Paltrow wants to make something crystal clear: She isn't signing her name on someone else's recipes and calling them her own. The four-time cookbook author actually...cooks. What a concept!
After a follower questioned her kitchen skills during an Instagram Live sesh earlier this week, Paltrow shot back. "Yes I f*cking cook," she said. "God D*mmit, you think I would write cookbooks if I didn't cook?" Luckily, another fan jumped in to defend The Clean Plate: Eat, Reset, Heal author. "Thank you," she said, adding, "and f*ck that person!"
YES, GWYN. You tell 'em.
Lemme just eliminate any doubt you might still be harboring. Paltrow released her first book, My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness in April 2012, and it's all dishes she grew up cooking with, you guessed it, her dad! Bruce!
She dropped a very Goop-esque cookbook two years later, It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great, and it's all based on her insane "doctor-prescribed" no coffee, alcohol, dairy, sugar, shellfish, deep-water fish, wheat, meat, soy, and processed food diet. I don't think anyone else on the planet is brave enough to try such a terrible lifestyle, so again, she was behind the recipes.
She teamed up for Goop food editor Thea Baumann for her It's All Easy: Delicious Weekday Recipes for the Super-Busy Home Cook launch. And now she's got Clean Plate.
So, I don't know, maybe next time you want to take shots at someone's professional endeavors, do your research. Or don't! But just know you're going to look real dumb for doing it.
