After a careful examination of how we eat, a new U.S. Foods survey found we have very strange delivery and take-in behaviors. More specifically, they took a look at the "habits and pain points of consumers who use popular food delivery apps [Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash, and Grubhub]. We also checked in with deliverers, too." Their findings were fascinating; we learned almost a third of delivery people sample food before dropping it off and that a good chunk of people don't understand that hot food + time = less hot food.

Below, some of the most interesting points from the survey.

Twenty-eight percent of deliverers have taken a bite of the food they're delivering.

We know this because the survey first asked 1,518 American adults if they'd be upset to learn the delivery guy had dipped into their food ahead of time (most said it would fall near the range of "absolutely unacceptable"). From there, 497 deliverers were asked if they had taken food from an order, and it seems a little less than 140 of them had. And since 21 percent of people who order food have suspected that of happening in the past...😬😬😬😬😬

That said, 85 percent of people would like to implement tamper-proof packaging on their food.

So you really don't trust people with your food, huh?

Not a lot of people are just happy when their food comes.

Almost 20 percent of people complain their food is not hot upon arrival, 10 percent are upset when the food comes a bit shaken up, and 16 percent get mad when their food is later than the designated delivery time.

Almost half of people who order in don't tip more generously in inclement weather.

Guys! Come on! That's not cool!

Deliverers are not happy when they're not tipped properly.

Again. Come on, guys! The low-to-no tipping is most upsetting to most delivery people (about 60 percent of them expressed dissatisfaction with their tips). Otherwise, they're primarily frustrated by unclear instructions from customers, customers not picking up their phones, and customers expecting them to come up lots of stairs.

So! In conclusion! We! are! all! monsters!
