In a press release earlier this week, Starbucks announced the extension of their partnership with Uber Eats. While the two were already working together to make Starbucks delivery happen in certain locations, they are now officially promising to bring that service nationwide by "early" next year.
"We are driven to create new and unique digital experiences that are meaningful, valuable, and convenient for our customers,” group president and chief operating officer for Starbucks Roz Brewer explained: “Partnering with Uber Eats helps us take another step towards bringing Starbucks to customers wherever they are.”
As of now, Starbucks is saying 95 percent of its menu will be available for delivery when the service is finally available for everyone. And while there are no specifications as to how long you can anticipate it being from the time you hit "place order" to your PSL arriving at your door, the Miami Herald reports that during the partnership's test phase, it took about 30 minutes on average for people to receive their coffee and such.
Another thing that's unclear? Whether "nationwide" really, truly means nationwide. The Takeout notes that of Starbucks' 17,000+ U.S. locations, a good chunk are franchised rather than corporate—nowhere in the press release was it specified that all sorts of Starbucks locations would be participating.
REGARDLESS. This is excellent news! You will soon be able to wake up to coffee far better than what you could make at home. You also could just wake up and walk about 50 feet to the Starbucks nearest to you, but who wants to do that!? Starbucks in bed! All the Starbucks!
