We've already been taunted by Burger King's Swedish Halloumi Burger making its way solely over to the U.K., but this week the fast food empire has continued to play with our hearts...and stomachs. This time, they released an incredible new dish in Spain.
So what's the new treat they probably won't bring stateside anytime soon? Feta. Cheese. Bites. Yep. According to Brand Eating, these bad boys are breaded, deep-fried, and served with honey mustard on the side.
This news hurts so bad because obviously the bites are going to taste SO good. Still, we're happy for our Spanish friends who'll get to indulge in the new snack all summer long while they sip on their gorgeous unicorn milkshakes and party in Ibiza.
...I'm not salty. I promise.
To be fair, we have been fortunate enough to try comparable bites in the past. Remember the BK cheesy tots? Those were bomb.com for sure. Still, feta bites sound like a bougie alternative that may or may not put those cheesy tots to shame. Don't know about you, but it's times like these that make me wish fast food restaurants just had a rotational global menu. (Shoutout to McDonald's for their Worldwide Favorites selections.)
For now, an adequate alternative might just lie in our saganaki recipe! What exactly is saganaki? you ask. Oh, just a traditional Greek dish that has fried feta and, well, fried feta. You can dress it up with other ingredients, but we won't judge if you don't.
