Since the 1980s, one of the most beautiful Taco Bell stores has been open in Pacifica, CA. Located steps from Linda Mar beach, it's a pretty iconic spot to eat a Chalupa. And now there's even more reason to visit: This summer, T. Bell turned the restaurant into a cantina, meaning it officially serves local wine, beer, and Twisted Freezes, which are spiked versions of frozen Taco Bell drinks like the Baja Blast.
As part of the remodel, local San Francisco street artist Nora Bruhn painted a new mural in the restaurant and a cozy indoor/outdoor fireplace was added. Outside, customers can drop their board in the "surfboard parking" zone before coming in, or order at the walk-up window if they prefer to stay outside. Before you get annoyed there's no drive-thru, take a look at the huge deck out back—tacos with a view, anyone?
This is Taco Bell's first free-standing Cantina restaurant, though there are 40+ Cantinas around the country, including ones in Manhattan, Chicago, and Austin. The most notable cantina is in Las Vegas, where there's an actual wedding chapel inside that's hosted more than 165 couples turned newlyweds. The Pacifica store is also one of the first to have compost and recycle bins outside, an effort to help keep the beach clean.
Diehard Taco Bell fans: If you're looking for more locations to add to your bucket list, there's one in the U.K. that has a stage for local bands to play on and another in Guatemala City located inside a gorgeous old bank—it holds the title of the biggest Taco Bell in the world.
