Who says wine doesn't pair with tailgating?! Football has long been looked at as a beer-drinking game, but we disagree. And the company who owns Corona and Svedka feels the same way.

Their parent company, Constellation Brands, announced last week on their earnings call that they have forged a relationship with the National Football League. CEO William Newlands highlighted their new brand Crafters Union, canned wine, as the "perfect format for football games and tailgating." And they seem to have big plans to promote Crafters Union to align with football watching this coming season.

This new product launch seems to be inspired by the success seen in both their Kim Crawford brand's alignment with the U.S. Open and their innovation in their Svedka Rosé Vodka product. They're pushing the boundaries of wine into various sporting events and even into new categories in the liquor industry.

Yet we'll be the first to say canned vino isn't a brand new idea, with many wine companies already serving up a canned option. It's easy and portable, but also great if you don't need to open a full bottle; most cans hold up to 2 glasses.

Will it catch on like Constellation Brands is hoping? We're not sure, but will we try it out for ourselves come football season? Heck yes we will!
