July is a time to celebrate our great nation, and what says "happy birthday, America" quite like a tequila and whiskey cocktail? Nothing, absolutely nothing. As part of Chili's monthly marg rotation, the chain has welcomed its new (and super boozy) "Southern Back Porch 'Rita."
The $5 libation features Southern Comfort Whiskey, Lunazul Blanco Tequila, fresh sour mix, mango puree, and unsweetened iced tea. If it sounds like a hangover waiting to happen, that's because it probably is; the refresher is brimming with alcohol and is pretty hard to put down. Not that we're complaining or anything.
If you had any doubts about this sweet sipper, which the brand was dubbed "southern hospitality in a margarita glass," lemme put them to rest. It's so good, and not just because it'll get you buzzed faster than you can say Happy Fourth of July. "Take a trip to the friendly south via your taste buds with July’s Margarita of the Month, The Southern Back Porch," the brand wrote on Twitter. "It’s basically a $5 vacation."
Fans were quick with the enthusiasm. "LETS GO CHILIS!!!!!!!!!!" one customer wrote on Instagram. "I can't wait to have a drink or two or twenty LOL," another added to Facebook. Everyone's got zero chill.
While the Southern Back Porch marg is available all day, every day, happy hour's still the ideal time slot for a Chili's run. That $5 Spinach Queso and Fresh Guac pairs perfectly.
