Coming up on its tenth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Lil Nas X's remix of "Old Town Road" has clearly been nothing if not successful. That being said, the Mayor of Flavortown is ready to take the song to the next level.
That's right: This past Thursday, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives star Guy Fieri tweeted the up-and-coming artist, and proposed his own remix of the uber-popular song. See?
And while we are all living for the janky photoshop of Guy Fieri happily riding a horse, no one actually saw the potential of a true collaboration. That is, until Lil Nas X responded, and called Guy Fieri a "legend."
At 360,000 likes and 42,000 retweets, it was clear that fans were (1) s h o o k and (2) absolutely in support of this collaboration. In fact, they quickly began to develop their own lyrics for "Flavortown Road," and honestly they're on point.
And yet, that's not all. Before it was all said and done, Guy responded again, proposing that the two work on a single dubbed "Panini" before jumping ahead to "Flavortown Road." Again, not sure who is coming up with this corny album cover art, but it's fantastic and definitely on brand.
So while no news in regards to the collaboration has been confirmed, we hope Guy and Lil Nas X will get a chance to meet. Guys, just please know that we will be here, and we will be waiting for to be taken to Flavortown. Thanks in advance.
