This past Monday, Forbes announced that Jay-Z has officially entered the billionaires’ club. To date, the rapper and mogul has made his mark in several different arenas: his music career, managing artists and athletes under Roc Nation, having a stake in Tidal (and other companies, like Uber), investments in art and real estate, and booze. Beyonce’s husband has investments in champagne brand Armand de Brignac and the cognac brand D’Usse, both of which make Jay quite the pretty penny.

On the same day that Forbes made us all aware of just how successful Sean Carter is—in case we didn’t already know—Entrepreneur reported that he is now stepping into another scene: cookies. Through his firm Marcy Venture Partners, Jay-Z is investing in Partake Foods. Founded by Denise Woodard after her daughter was diagnosed with multiple food allergies, Partake is a New Jersey-based maker of allergen-free cookies. Woodard started the company on Kickstarter and ended up leaving her job as director of national sales at Coca-Cola in their Venturing & Emerging Brands division to run it full-time. She went from selling cookies out of her car to selling them at 300 stores.

Partake Foods takes a healthy approach to snacking that appeals not just to those who have to abide to dietary restrictions, but also to those who might just be looking for a great-tasting treat that doesn’t conflict with clean eating. So far, they offer cookies in birthday cake, carrot oat, double chocolate chip, sprouted grain chocolate mini chip and sweet potato millet varieties.

"Partake has the ingredients to build a mass market brand: compelling values, a great tasting product, and a tenacious and experienced operator," Marcy Venture Partners co-founder and managing director Larry Marcus said in a press release, per Entrepreneur. "We are honored to back [Partake Founder] Denise [Woodard] and the team and help grow their business."

It’s easy to see why Jay-Z sensed potential in Partake Foods, and with the help of what seems to be his Midas touch, we’re looking forward to seeing those cookies everywhere soon. Buy a sample box to see what all the fuss is about, below.
