Unless you were living under a rock last summer, you probably recall the spectacle that was IHOP turning into IHOb. The much-talked-about publicity stunt—which actually resulted in a whole lot of burger sales—is getting something of a second life.
Monday, IHOP tweeted out a six-second video of the 'b' flipping back to a 'p.' The video read "We heard you. June 3 #IHOP." Rather than just going back to pancakes (to be clear, pancakes never left the menu), it seems IHOP has something else planned, if the "What could the P be?" caption is to be believed.
They followed up the tweet with a second, longer video Tuesday that showed tweets from people telling IHOP to stay in their lane, stick to pancakes, etc.
"Last year, the Internet had a lot to say about IHOb. Well, we heard you. Stay tuned for June 3."
So...they are going back to pancakes? They're not? They're ONLY serving pancakes? Also, did anyone think they were still going by IHOb? We'll have to wait until June 3 to find out. In the meantime, here are some serious and not-so-serious guesses from followers.
To note, IHOP has responded to a few tweets: THE Mr. Peanut tweeted, unsurprisingly, "PEANUTS!", to which IHOP wrote "We're nut telling yet." Someone else guessed pancakes on burgers, which prompted a "Probably not… but definitely not definitely not" from IHOP. If it's the latter, I'm sure Burger King will have something to say about it before long. Let the probably pancake games begin!
