Update, January 9, 2020 10:21 a.m.: After a longgggggg wait, it looks like the Crush-inspired Sour Patch Kids have finally hit stores. Though you might be most used to seeing Crush Orange Soda, Sour Patch Kids Crush Fruit Mix is full of flavors inspired by strawberry, grape, and lemon soda, as well.

Instagrammer @SnackBetch shared a photo of the candy mix that they found at QuikTrip. No word on where and when the Swedish Fish will be released, but we can all just cross our fingers and hope that it will be soon. We could all use a bit of good news right now.

Original, May 13, 2019 1:49 p.m.: Instagram snack detective @JunkFoodMom has yet to steer us wrong, so when she first reported on the new Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kid Crush Soda-inspired flavors last week, we knew it was more than a rumor. If all goes according to plan, parent company Mondelez International will unveil the new products, like, really soon.

"Debuting at the @Sweets_and_snacks_expo this month: Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish CRUSH," the caption read. O. M. G. Obviously, I did some digging to find out when the expo is happening, because I need an official update on the release. Turns out, the Chicago-based conference is a mere week away! It runs May 21 through May 23 and will welcome 800-plus exhibitors and 2,000-plus product launches.

The flavors reportedly include orange, strawberry, grape, and pineapple, which makes sense given those are classic Crush Soda faves. Personally, I'm an orange Crush kinda girl, but I won't discriminate when it comes to the candies.

So how are fans—other than me—reacting? The post garnered plenty of "Whoa," "🙌," and "WOW" responses...which I'd say is pretty glowing.

In February, Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids both released two-in-one flavors. Not only do the "heads and tails" have double the flavor, they're also two times bigger. They're currently available in 99-cent single packs and 14-ounce bags that go for $3.19. They are exactly what we need to hold us over until the Crush Soda-inspired candies launch.
