In honor of Heineken's latest launch, their alcohol-free "0.0" brew, the brand is officially declaring Friday, April 26 "Bring Your Beer To Work Day." Which is definitely a holiday we can get behind. To celebrate, the company reunited former co-stars Angela Kinsey and Brian Baumgartner—aka Angela and Kevin from The Office—to pass out beers at an actual office.
Baumgartner and Kinsey arrived to surprise real fans with the brew—and naturally, they were shocked. "When I saw them for the first time I was like, 'no way,'" one employee said, with another adding that the beer was "really good." In the clip, Brian and Angela rode around on a bike with a basket full of bottles, presented a powerpoint on how Heineken "affects morale and productivity," and even monopolized the boss's office—what would Michael Scott say?!
The company first announced Heineken 0.0's debut back in January with an ad campaign centered on #NowYouCan scenarios—aka all the places it's acceptable to drink alcohol-free beer. Now you can crack open a cold one while driving or in the middle of the work day without the risk of, you know, DUI or getting fired.
Okay, but how's it made? The hangover-free Heineken tastes just like the classic and it has a lot to do with the brewing process. The beer is created by mixing and fermenting water, malted barley, and hop extract with the company's A-yeast. The alcohol is removed just before bottling, so you won't miss out on the fruity, malty flavor we've all come to expect from of the brand.
The 69 calorie brew—yes, it's low-cal, too!—officially landed in stores January 9. So maybe when you go to pack your lunch tomorrow, toss in a 0.0. It's what Kevin, Angela, and probably Michael Scott would want.
