The great Taco Bell Quesarito—we all know it, love it, and have had our fair share of 2 a.m. (tequila-inspired) chow downs—is about to get a whole lot better. But how, you might ask? Well, the Tex-Mex chain is testing out a Double Beef version of the original.
After reports first surfaced of the menu launch earlier this week, a rep for the brand confirmed the news to Delish and promised the "cheese pull is real." Sooo, cue the gasps. According to Brand Eating, the addition will hit Charlotte, North Carolina, stores on a trial basis in May. Though it's currently slated for a limited-edition run, we're pretty confident the soon-to-be fan favorite will make it's way to menus nationwide.
Here's the deal: The standard Quesarito is basically a burrito wrapped in a quesadilla. And while it has all the same fixings—seasoned beef, creamy chipotle sauce, sour cream, nacho cheese, and rice—the Double Beef option is also swaddled in a beef quesadilla. There's nothing not to love about the upgrade.
The new and improved Quesarito is available a la carte for $3.49 or as part of a $5 box combo, which includes two crunchy tacos and a medium drink.
If you can't get your hands on the test product and need something (i.e. free food) to console you, then download the Taco Bell app. Now through May 11, the brand is offering free breakfast burritos with the purchase of any regular menu item. The real dilemma? Should we go for the Grilled or Fiesta Potato Breakfast Burrito?
