If you’re looking for a job at a fast food chain, you’ll definitely want to consider Taco Bell. In preparation for summer and vacation season, the chain is filling thousands of positions, and it’s not your typical hiring process. Participating Taco Bell locations across the country are hosting nearly 600 “Hiring Parties” from April 22 to April 27, “to help match interested candidates with the right job opportunity and make the hiring process as easy and fun as possible,” according to a press release.
Taco Bell is inviting applicants of all ages to attend the “unique spin on a job fair.” Each party will have free food, “festivities,” and on-the-spot interviews, so you can eat a Chalupa, do a power pose, and then have an interview!
Per the press release, the only thing candidates need to bring to a Hiring Party is “a ready-to-learn attitude.” Those who attend will have the chance to talk to managers and current employees, play trivia, take photos, and of course, eat Taco Bell.
Frank Tucker, chief people officer at Taco Bell Corp., says, “People are an integral part of the brand, and Hiring Parties provide job candidates with an insider’s look at what makes Taco Bell restaurants a place to want to work and grow.” The Hiring Parties this year follow a successful pilot of the program in Indianapolis last year. The parties are one of several initiatives the chain is dedicating to enhancing its employees’ experience.
Taco Bell is also introducing new employee perks in company-owned restaurants, such as a free meal per shift for all corporate store-level employees. You can find the location and time of a Hiring Party near you at this website. If there’s not a party happening nearby, Taco Bell still encourages those interested to apply online.
Hiring parties are actually a really genius idea. More companies should take Taco Bell's lead.
