If I had to guess, I'd say the last time most of us owned a mini-fridge was in college. Back then, it was likely filled with Gatorade and yogurt and leftovers, or some other weird collection of food you'd find at your corner store. But now, in the era of self-care, skin care fridges are a thing, and people are obsessed.
Search "skin care fridge" on YouTube and you'll find plenty of beauty bloggers posting tours of their own fridges—most of which are just normal mini fridges, to be clear. Fashion and beauty vlogger Safiya Nygaard, whose tweet about buying one turned into a Twitter moment, told followers she got hers on Amazon. Urban Outfitters has the same one; knowing their audience, they're calling it a Mini Beauty Refrigerator. One buyer wrote a review titled "Don’t think twice just get it," and another said "Great addition to my self care routine!"
The little fridge can hold your jade roller, serums, masks, and creams...and a can of La Croix or canned wine, depending on your beauty haul. Anything you don't feel like storing in a normal (or communal) fridge, or don't want to leave your bedroom to get once you're nice and comfy in bed. Urban's model measures 10.2" x 7.7" x 10.5", so it won't take up much space, and has a removable shelf you can take out if you have tall products to store. If you're into a more retro look, Frigidaire makes a cute one too.
When it comes to what you want to keep in the fridge, Reader's Digest recommends eye cream, facial mist sprays, lipstick, and any organic beauty products made without preservatives. Interestingly, sunscreen is a good one to keep cold, too, as it keeps the SPF intact longer.
