While McDonald's and Dunkin' were fighting over their eerily similar menu items—Donut Sticks and Donut Fries—Taco Bell was busy perfecting an even better version of the cinnamon-sugar sweet. On Thursday, the brand announced their new limited-edition Churro Donuts...and they're only $1.

Touting the menu addition as "everything you know and love about a churro in the shape of a donut," the warm, deep fried donuts are hitting Kansas City stores—yes, only KC—as a test run. And while they're not currently available nationwide, I have a hunch they'll go mainstream soon. Namely because they've already garnered quite the fanbase. People are freaking out all over Twitter.

"Feeling very blessed that Taco Bell has decided that Kansas City is a worthy market to test the Churro donut," one user wrote, with another adding: "Be still my ❤️."

According to Taco Bell, the KC-exclusive is available during breakfast hours and is offered a la carte for a single dollar. Which means, yep, we'll take 10 orders.

In February, McDonald's launched their highly anticipated take on the trend with Donut Sticks. After news of the launch leaked to the press earlier this year and the brand promised "more delicious and craveable news to come," fans finally got a chance to try 'em. Only problem? Dunkin' wasn't too please. The iconic coffee and pastry purveyor took to social media with major shade over Micky D's copycat version of Donut Fries.

Though a rep for Dunkin' called the Twitter jab a "fun reaction to competitors imitating our success with Donut fries," I can't help but wonder if T Bell is the next target? Clearly, DD is trying to stake their claim on donuts.
