Should you be a fan of Sam Adams beer and the 86-year-old Wonder Woman who is RBG, you might want to start planning a trip to Boston. At an event this Friday, the brewery is releasing a Ruth Bader Ginsburg-inspired beer, appropriately brewed on International Women's Day.
The Belgian Bruit IPA is called "When There Are Nine," a nod to RBG's famous answer when asked when there will be enough women on the Supreme Court. "We wanted to name it Brut Bader Ginsburg but our legal team, uh, dissented," the event description jokingly reads.
With a $20 ticket, visitors to the Boston brewery will receive a pint of When There Are Nine and four dumplings from Mei Mei, a local Boston restaurant; a donation to the Pink Boots Society is also factored into the cost.
Each year, the Pink Boots Society teams up with hop purveyor Yakima Chief to make a special blend of hops to be used in brews around the country in conjunction with International Women’s Day. Year round, the organization helps promote education and advancement of women within the beer industry.
At Friday's event, guests can also participate in a plank contest, à la workout queen herself (RBG is a beast in the gym, and don't you forget it). Grab a ticket to the event here!
(...And if you're not familiar with RBG, you should most definitely go watch CNN and HBO's documentary chronicling her life and experience as a Supreme Court Justice.)
