If you've ever been to Italy, there's a good chance you've tried a spritz. Perhaps an Aperol Spritz was your go-to drink order. Now, thanks to Mezzo Spritz, you don't have to fly to Italy to experience the unique and refreshing taste. This summer, we can drink spritzes by the can!
The Mezzo Spritz is slightly different than your classic spritz. A classic spritz, according to Mezzo's website, is made with three ingredients: prosecco, sparkling water, and an apertif (such as Aperol). A Mezzo Spritz is made with cider, sparkling water, and botanicals (which sounds super light and refreshing)!
Mezzo encourages fans to enjoy the beverage in several different ways—either straight from the can, over ice, or mixed in a cocktail. The blood orange-flavored drink has a low ABV, and Mezzo says it's meant to be enjoyed during the day, whether at a cafe or during lunch.
The website says, "We invite you to join us for an Italian vacation in a glass. Open a can, pour over ice, and garnish with a slice of the citrus fruit of your choice. Sit back, relax, and get busy doing nothing."
Don't mind if I do! According to a press release, Mezzo is the Italian word for "half." With just 80 calories and 3.5% ABV, the Mezzo Spritz has half the calories and ABV as a traditional spritz.
Elite Daily reports that Mezzo Spritz is available in 12-ounce six-packs at select retailers in Illinois, New York, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Oregon, Washington, California, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, and Montana.
Catch me sipping a canned spritz poolside this summer!
