While appearing on the Late Late Show With James Corden Tuesday, Gordon Ramsay did not mince words when the topic of Piers Morgan came up. After the celebrity chef posted a video of his London-based restaurant Bread Street Kitchen's new vegan roast, Morgan jumped in with his, um, thoughts. "Oh [for f*cks sake], Ramsay... not you as well? This looks utterly revolting," he wrote, alongside two vomiting emojis. Piers Morgan...outspoken!? Who knew?
When asked about the comments, Ramsay laughed. "So, Piers Morgan is now a food critic. Go and f*ck Yourself," he said, rather enthusiastically. He continues to repeat "seriously?" and "really?" because seriously, he really couldn't believe Morgan had the nerve. The audience broke out into a loud cheer and frankly, same—put him in his place!!!
The Kitchen Nightmares star's latest culinary creation may actually come as a surprise to fans. In fact, Ramsay has made quite the habit of trolling vegans and vegetarians. Back in 2016, the famed chef claimed an allergy to vegans and later responded to a fan tweet of by calling himself a member of PETA or "people eating tasty animals."
He's taken shots at vegetarians as well. According to the Telegraph, he said: "If one of my daughters' boyfriends turns out to be vegetarian, I swear to God I'd never forgive them." A bit melodramatic, Gordon! He also joked that his "worst nightmare" was for one of his children to adopt the diet. "If the kids ever came up to me and said, 'Dad, I'm a vegetarian,' then I would sit them on the fence and electrocute them." Ummmmm, harsh.
Considering all of Ramsay's judgement, his new vegan offerings are unexpected. However, he admitted that it was time for a slice of "humble pie." In April 2018, he conceded on Instagram that he was ready to give the movement a try. "Here’s the thing, we have three girls. Moving trends. I mean, veganism is on the rise, so ought to adapt," he told Corden this week.
Because Piers Morgan is, well, Piers Morgan, he obviously didn't sit on the insult. The controversial TV personality was back on Twitter lobbing insults. “Ramsay’s shamed face says it all.. he knows I’m right," he wrote in one tweet. "Gordon hasn't changed his mind about vegans because he's suddenly seen the vegan light...he's changed his mind so he can cash in on this absurd new craze to eat tasteless gruel."
Alright, your move Ramsay.
