Ed Sheeran is putting down the guitar and picking up the cocktail shaker—figuratively speaking, at least. The "Perfect" crooner is reportedly opening up a new bar, restaurant, and music venue in his own West London neighborhood with longtime manager Stuart Camp. The pair is currently rehabbing the nearly $2 million space with hopes to open as soon as next month.
According to The Sun, Sheeran and Camp purchased the Spanish diner Galacia just last year and are outfitting it with live music capabilities. "Builders are hard at work making over the venue so it will be ready by the end of April,” a local source told the publication. "The name is up in the air, as locals liked Galicia, but Ed is keen to put his own stamp on it."
While the four time Grammy Award winner has yet to confirm the news himself, the business partners supposedly have a very specific vision in mind for the opening—with his hit song, "Castle On The Hill" in the running for name. "The idea is to have an understated opening with an edgy crowd," the source continued to The Sun. "Ed wants it to be his local and doesn’t want to be inundated with selfie-hunters and fans."
Sheeran's ban on "selfie-hunters" hardly comes as a surprise. After retreating from the spotlight in 2015, the star opened up about his disdain for social media toxicity.
"What I think you can get down with social media is that everyone’s very, very quick to rise to bait on something," he told PEOPLE. "What I found, especially, is people will write something you’ve said (that you’ve never said) and post it online, and instantly it’s a quote that suddenly gets loads of people riled up. Social media’s very much like 0 to 100, and the next day they don’t remember it." Despite his return to the public eye, the "Shape of You" singer retains a quieter life in London with his childhood sweetheart and rumored wife, Cherry Seaborn (and their beloved cat!)
