You can temporarily transport yourself to Italy while at Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins combo stores if you try their exciting limited-time menu addition: an affogato. The classic Italian dessert is made with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that's covered in a shot of espresso. According to a press release, the dessert gets its name from the definition of "affogato" in Italian; the word means "drown," and the espresso is drowning the ice cream!
This affogato is made with Baskin-Robbins' French Vanilla ice cream and Dunkin's espresso, "resulting in a rich palate-pleaser and perfect afternoon pick-me-up." Dunkin' tweeted in Italian to announce the new dessert (...and I am thankful for the "translate Tweet" feature right about now!).
Normally, the dessert is $3.49, but on Monday, March 18, you can get a free sample of it between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mark your calendars, espresso fans!
The treat is only available at participating Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins combo stores for a limited time, so make sure you try it soon!
