Dunkin'—formerly known as Dunkin' Donuts—is taking a page from Wendy's book and shading McDonald's on social media. On Monday, the coffee company took to Twitter to @ Mickey D's for their new Donut Sticks, which happen to look *eerily* similar to Dunkin's own variety. "What a weird coincidence...@McDonalds came out with Donut Sticks, and we just released the blueprints to our new donut packaging..." the brand tweeted, alongside a sketch of copycat Big Mac boxes. Touché.

While McDonald's has yet to respond to the social media snark, a spokesperson for Dunkin' commented on the lighthearted Twitter trolling. "This was just for fun in reaction to competitors imitating our success with Donut fries," the rep told Business Insider, calling it a "reminder that America runs on Dunkin' coffee and donuts."

McDonald's launched their much-anticipated (and limited edition) breakfast treat in early February after Business Insider leaked internal documents detailing the menu addition just one month prior. At the time, a rep for the company declined to comment but did promise customers "more delicious and crave-able news to come in 2019." The Donut Sticks officially arrived in stores February 20. And while they've been well-received by fans, clearly not everyone is thrilled over the debut.

It's also not the first time a fast food rival has tried to muddle the reputation of those iconic golden arches. In March 2018, Wendy's went on a shade-filled Twitter tirade roasting McDonald's for their use of frozen beef. "Happy #NationalFrozenFoodDay," they wrote, adding, "we believe in using fresh, never frozen beef in every cheeseburger everyday."

Maybe the pair can team up and take on their competitor together?
