Over the years, the Food Network's given us some epic culinary battles. And while we've gotten to see barbecue pit-masters, savory titans, and pastry professionals fight it out for the top spot in their fields, we've somehow never gotten to see the two indisputable kings of cake go up against each other...until now. Buddy vs. Duff premieres on March 10. Here's an answer to just about every question you could possibly have about this cake-filled series.

Wait, who are you talking about?

Oh wow, OK. When I say "Buddy," I am talking about Buddy Valastro. Like, the Cake Boss Buddy Valastro. The one with a longstanding hit television show and bakeries worldwide? The one with the coveted lobster tail recipe? And when I say "Duff," I am referring to Duff Goldman, Ace of Cakes creator and owner of the incomparably famous Charm City Cakes. The guy who made DIY-ing your own wedding cake a real possibility. The same guy who had five insane wedding cakes of his own? That's who I'm talking about.

Ohhh. They've really never had any kind of cake-off before?

According to the Food Network, "never before have these two baking icons gone head-to-head in a competition, until now." Each of the bakers has had their own show(s) on the network, and both have certainly appeared in plenty of baking competitions, but yeah, no—no one-to-one-competition-to-singlehandedly-determine-who-is-the-best-baker-of-them-all kinda thing.

OK, OK. So what will the show entail?

The answer is: a lot! A quick summary from the network explains the first "Bake-Off" will involve Duff and Buddy each making their most beloved family recipes. A subsequent "Cake-Off" will see them making "car-inspired cakes with all the bells and whistles." Other episodes will have them baking carnival treats, Bollywood-inspired confections, illusion cakes, and fulfilling customers' orders at a famous L.A. donut shop. The series finale involves making chocolate desserts that can hide engagement rings, so this is serious.

How long will it go on for?

It's a six-week competition.

What do these two hope to accomplish?

Well, the glory of all glories. Or, you know, just being the winner of a baking show starring two renowned bakers. There is no prize involved other than bragging rights.

Who determines who wins?

We don't know all of the judges for the season just yet, but we do know we'll primarily see bakers Sherry Yard and Keegan Gerhard as head judges with guest judging appearances from Christina Anstead, Hannah Hart, Penn & Teller, and Aarti Sequeir, to name a few.

Who am I supposed to be rooting for?

Listen, man, I can't answer that. Delish has a lot of love for both of these guys. Do whatever feels right in your heart.

When and where can I watch it?

This I can answer definitively: Watch the series premiere of Buddy vs. Duff on Food Network this Sunday, March 9, at 9/8C.
