KitchenAid is turning 100 this year, and—rightfully so—the brand's making a BFD out of the milestone. We have it on good authority that there are many surprises in store, rolling out over the course of 2019. Today, we're treating you to the first of those: a brand new KitchenAid color in honor of the 100th anniversary.
You might recall the celebratory Misty Blue hue that launched toward the end of last year—a retro shade that was all about honoring the brand's past. This new color, available April 1, is a look at what's to come. "With Passion Red, the brand introduces a fresh, yet elegant, authentic red celebrating the next 100 years of KitchenAid," KitchenAid reps said in a statement.
The new color can be found on all seven of the items in the 100 Year Limited Edition Queen of Hearts Collection: a stand mixer with a stainless steel bowl and pouring shield, a stand mixer with a glass bowl and flex edge beater, a 2-speed hand blender, a 3.5 cup chopper, a 7-speed hand mixer, a 1.5-L kettle, and a 2-slice toaster. Separate from the limited-edition collection, a variety of KitchenAid ranges in Passion Red will be available this summer.
All of the 100 Year line items, with the exception of the slim immersion blender, feature a sweet trimband that's dotted with hundreds of tiny hearts. It's, well, downright adorable and not too cutesy—a perfect heartfelt design tribute.
