Taco Bell has a long running reputation for being ultra-affordable (and delicious, duh). While the latter undoubtedly won't change, the fast food mega-chain is testing out their most expensive menu item yet. Before you start speeding past your regular drive-thru window, relax. It's still only seven dollars.
The Double Steak Melt Deluxe Box basically screams luxury. For customers down to try out the new menu add, the meal comes with a folded flat bread—the same kind used in fan favorite Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch— topped with marinated steak and so much cheese. The box also includes a side of T-Bell's recently returned Nacho fries, a crunch taco, and medium drink. I told you—luxurious!
If you're already starving, sit tight. Unless you have travel plans to Ohio anytime soon, you're out of luck for now, at least. According to The Daily Meal, the box is currently only being tested at the Dayton location.
Even locals rushing to try the cheesy new steak melt will have to act fast. The item is sticking around until late February. Fingers crossed it makes a permanent return to the menu soon.
