When realtor Leslie Remy was preparing for her appearance on HGTV's House Hunters, she probably assumed that the most challenging part of the gig would be finding the perfect home that fit all her buyer's needs. But there was actually another obstacle Remy wasn't expecting: Her wardrobe.
Remy, the owner and broker of Astra Realty in McKinney, Texas, told Guide Live she "did not expect clothing to be as big of an issue as it was." For example, "I couldn't wear a necklace because it would interfere with the mic," Remy revealed.
Along with nixing necklaces, the show seems to have some strict guidelines on what people can and can't wear. "They told us to wear some solids—not prints—and to bring an extra outfit," Remy said. "I brought four extra outfits and they were like, 'nope, nope, nope.'" The approved ensemble ended up being "something boring," Remy admitted, which was black pants paired with a blue top.
We hope that plain-Jane outfit was comfortable, as the filming process sounds pretty lengthy and rigorous. "We spent close to eight hours filming one house of the three homes the couple will see," Remy said. Even more astounding? "It's a 30-minute show; that'll probably be less than 10 minutes on TV," she added.
The filming schedule can make finding a buyer difficult as they have to be in front of the camera for five long days, Remy noted. "Scheduling issues and that kind of thing made some of my buyers not a good fit," she said, but pointed out that the two clients she decided on were "perfect."
