Fresh off the Taco Bell cake that broke the internet, Caked Up Café is back with another you've-gotta-see-it-to-believe-it creation. This time, 18-year-old cake genius Francesca Byrnes crafted a Flamin' Hot Cheetos and Mountain Dew cake.
Why, you might ask? Well, firstly, because it's a custom order that comes through from customers quite frequently, she explained. Also, because why the heck not?
She starts as she usually does, with appropriately colored buttercream layering on two tiers of cakes. Once that's all smoothed out, it's time for sugar work.
Red fondant is used to make life-size "Cheetos," which, once coated with piping gel, are rolled around in actual Flamin' Hot Cheetos dust. Finally, a bag of Cheetos is fastened to the top of the masterpiece using a divot. A lone can of Dew sits next to it—the perfect chaser for the perfect snack.
