If Ree Drummond had her way, she would've breezed past 50 without much mention of the milestone. But her husband, Ladd, had other plans. And thankfully, the surprise party was a hit. "I'm so glad the little booger decided not to listen to me," Ree wrote on Instagram Monday.
Ree celebrated her 50th birthday this weekend with a surprise birthday party thrown by Ladd at P-Town Pizza, Ree's newest restaurant in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. As she shared online, she had plenty of company.
Her sister came from Seattle to celebrate, and her closest high school friends came from all over: San Diego, Dallas, Kansas City, and Atlanta. More of her "oldest/dearest childhood friends" came to celebrate, too, along with her kids.
Obviously, the food had to be on point, and Ree's restaurant family did not disappoint. Chefs and bakers from The Mercantile made "a spread of food I'll be daydreaming about for the rest of my life." That's some high praise! Based on the photos Ree shared of the dessert table—which includes a cake, macarons, cream puffs, and layered dessert cups—we'll take her word that the whole feast was phenomenal.

Ree had some extra help celebrating from fans, too. One commented on her Instagram, "We sang happy birthday from the Boarding House balcony. Happy Birthday!" The Boarding House is located just next door to the Mercantile, and Ree seemingly took note. She wrote back: "That was a such a sweet thing for you guys to do. Made me feel so special, thank you!!"
Happy birthday, Ree!
