You could argue that a food trend isn't actually a food trend until you, your mom, your mom's best friend Susie, and Susie's niece are all pinning it to their SO DELISH! board. To keep you ahead of the game, Pinterest released a round up of what they expect to see blowing up their site in 2019. There are a lot of usual suspects—ahem, healthy things—but also quite a few trends that are seemingly out of left field.

Here are Pinterest's top food trends of 2019:

Mushrooms

They're hearty, they're healthy, they're versatile, they're everywhere. Really! Pinterest has seen recipes for mushroom chocolate and mushroom coffee, to name a few.

The Pegan Diet

This paleo-vegan mash-up has been slowly gaining momentum amongst those who want to try and cleaner, healthier lifestyle but aren't willing to give up a lot of their staples (meat, for one) entirely.
