On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, a bag of chips in a pear tree decorative box. So says the traditional carol—and also Lay's potato chips. This year, the chip company is celebrating the holidays with a limited-edition 12 Days of Flavors advent calendar of sorts...and they're giving them away for free!
The absolutely giant limited-edition boxes come with 12 different bags of chips, all hidden behind individual doors like a traditional advent calendar. There are classics like Sour Cream and Onion and Barbecue, as well as odder flavors like Dill Pickle and Flamin' Hot. Fans of Kettle Cooked—don't you worry, there's some for you, too. For reference, the chip bags are bigger than individual bags, but smaller than the big party bags.
Unfortunately, you can't buy these in stores this year, but there is a way to get 'em sent to your door for free. As of this week, Lay’s is giving away the countdown calendars via Instagram—just keep an eye out for the entry call on Lay’s InstaStory, submit a comment, and cross your chip-loving fingers.
P.S.: In case you were wondering why there are so many "12 days of..." promotions going on, and where that Christmas carol came from, 12 days of Christmas refers to the time from December 25 to Three King's Day on January 6. The more you know!
