I'd wager most people would agree with me on this statement: Cream cheese frosting is the BEST part of red velvet cake. It's also the best part of carrot cake, but that's an argument for another time. With that in mind, ready yourself for the star of Baskin-Robbins' holiday menu: the Red Velvet Roll Cake.
This holiday treat wraps cocoa-flavored red velvet cake around a log of Creole cream-cheese flavored ice cream. Baskin describes the flavor, available by the scoop, too, as a creamy, rich cream cheese flavored ice cream with a Cajun flair.
While those two alone would make for a solid enough cake, the chefs over at Baskin also added cream cheese frosting on top, plus red velvet cake crumbs and chocolate swirls, because they are here for you this holiday season.
You can find the cake at participating U.S. stores now, or order one online here. (And if you want to make a classic at home, take a look at our recipe above.)
Beyond cake, Baskin brought four classic holiday ice cream flavors back—winter white chocolate, egg nog, peppermint (it has actual pieces of peppermint candy inside!), and mint chocolate chip—and debuted a new caramel cappuccino cheesecake flavor as their flavor of the month. See ya next year, diet.
